From May 2-4, the Center for Protestant Theology East, in cooperation with the Evangelical Lutheran and Reformed Churches of Hungary, invited regional delegates and experts to Budapest to vote on the texts and topics of the General Assembly. The CPCE’s strategy for the coming years would also be considered and common positions were sought.
On May 28, the Protestant Church in Switzerland invited people from its church and region who are active in the CPCE to an exchange of views in Bern. The aim was to exchange information on the General Assembly and discuss the CPCE’s future prospects.
On June 12, the delegates from the EKD and its member churches met in Hanover for a vote. In contrast to the Swiss cantonal churches, every member church of the EKD is a direct member of the CPCE, and not just the EKD as a whole. However, this requires special coordination for general assemblies.
Stay tuned for the announcement of other regional meetings!
