Sunday [01 September]
The last day of the General Assembly
It’s going to be an eventful day! Hopefully with sunshine, the delegates will be travelling to twelve church congregations in the region. The 14th Sunday after Trinity will be celebrated in Reformed, Lutheran, Unitarian, Methodist and Evangelical services. The pick-up depends on the distance to be travelled. Some can celebrate in Sibiu itself, while others have to travel almost 100 kilometres. The churches have been preparing for the meetings for a long time. This also includes a lunch. The individual groups are expected back at the hotels by 2 p.m. at the latest so that they can continue on time.
At 15:00, the plenary session will pass the final resolutions in the closing plenary session and adopt the report on the plenary session. The final resolutions will be adopted.
5.30 p.m.: The Assembly will once again conclude with a church service with communion. While the opening service was more in line with the local Protestant tradition, the closing service has freer, Reformed and Methodist elements. The newly elected council is introduced with a blessing.
Everyone can then celebrate at 19:30. In the spacious restaurant “La Dobrun” (Str. Dobrun Nr. 1), the party continues with music and a good atmosphere. The work is done.
